Visakhapatnam Following a decoy operation by Drug Control officials, two persons involved in black marketing of Remedesvir injections have been caught.

Drugs inspector (Vigilance) Suneeta posing as a patient relative in need of Remedesvir injections made a decoy call to a phone number obtained from another patient relative on Friday evening.

A person by name Suresh answered the call and he gave another number of a person, Rakesh.

When the Drugs Inspector contacted Rakesh over telephone, he told that he had six Remdesivir injections and the price is Rs.35,000 each (Rs.2,10,000 per six vials).

Drugs Inspectors Suneeta and PNVVS Kalyani (Visakhapatnam sales) waited in the surroundings of a hospital in MVP Colony here and said their relative was in desperate need of the life saving injection.

The accused Rakesh along with another person by name G.Brahmaji came to meet the Drugs inspectors at the hospital walking into the trap.

Three Covifor injections (Hetero) and three Redyx-L injections (Dr.Reddy's) along with Rs.44,000 cash were seuzed from their possession.

Drugs inspectors Suneetha and P.N.V.V.S.Kalyani along with S.Laxmoji, CI of Vigilance & Enforcement, have filed complaint in MVP Police Station.

On further enquiry, Rakesh and Brahmaji disclosed that they were getting the injections from a doctor.

Details were given to MVP Police for further enquiry, according to K.Rajita, Assistant Director, Drugs Control Administration, Visakhapatnam.
